Privacy Policy

Bed Time Fables is a service for parents and guardians, who must be 18 or older. Children never use this website. Everything we know about your child, you typed in yourself. We never collect information from a child, and there are no child accounts, child logins, or features for a child to use.

About you (the parent):

• Email address and a password (stored only as a secure hash; we cannot see it)
• Timezone and preferred story-delivery night
• Payment status. Card details go directly to Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your card number
• Emails we have sent you and your digest opt-out choice

About your child, provided by you:

• First name only (never a last name), age, and optionally gender
• The preferences you type in: favorite animal, favorite activities, interests, a favorite companion, family members or pets you want in stories, topics to avoid, and any optional family memories you choose to add
• Which nights have been read and the reaction you tapped, so stories can continue sensibly week to week

Automatically:

• Session cookies that keep you signed in, and a short-lived cookie that carries your signup answers between steps. No advertising cookies, no third-party trackers, no analytics profiles.

One thing: generate and deliver personalized bedtime stories, and run the subscription you asked for. Specifically:

• Your child’s profile is used to write their stories
• Your email is used for account messages: signup confirmation, story-ready notices, the promised trial reminder before your first charge, receipts, and (unless you opt out) a short weekly digest
• Reading history is used so future weeks stay consistent with past ones

We do not sell your information. We do not share it for advertising. We do not use it for anything unrelated to making and delivering stories.

These companies handle data only to run the service, under their own commercial terms:

• Supabase — database and sign-in
• Cloudflare — website hosting and story file storage
• Anthropic— the AI that writes the stories. Story requests include the profile details you provided. Under Anthropic’s commercial terms, this content is not used to train their AI models
• Stripe — payments. The only party that sees card details
• Resend — sending our emails

No other third parties receive personal information, except if the law compels us.

• Delete a child profile: in the app, any time. This permanently removes the profile, its stories, and its story-history from our systems, including stored story files. Residual working files expire automatically within 90 days.
• Delete your account: in the app, any time. Removes everything above plus your account record.
• Digest opt-out: one click in any digest email or in your account settings. Account and billing emails (receipts, trial reminders) are sent as long as you have an account, because they are part of the service.
• Access or questions: email support@bedtime-fables.com and we will show you or delete what we hold.

We do not track you across other websites, so a browser “Do Not Track” signal changes nothing: there is no tracking to turn off.

Our systems are hosted in the United States. If you use the service from elsewhere, your information is processed in the US.

We do not knowingly collect any information from children. All child-related information is provided by a parent or guardian about their own child, which is why the account holder must be an adult. If you believe a child has submitted information to us directly, email support@bedtime-fables.com and we will delete it.

If this policy changes in any meaningful way, we will email account holders before the change takes effect and update the date at the top. The current version always lives at bedtime-fables.com/privacy.
